“Comment vivre ensemble” is an artwork that resembles a stretched pyramid gently resting on the lush lawn.
In the given space in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland, Boschan‘s clear sculpture directly confronts the precisely curated garden landscape of the Enea Tree Museum through its glaring color, its playful and somewhat provocative appearance, and its asymmetrical tapered arrangement—while simultaneously offering a fragile possibility of shelter and respite.
Although it appears as a curious and strange object that has unexpectedly landed on the lawn, the simplicity and lightness of the shape establish a subtle yet familiar relationship with its surroundings.
“Comment vivre ensemble” is an element deeply and firmly anchored to the ground, embodying an attitude of respect, mindfulness, and appreciation for the essential quality of grounding.
And precisely amidst the drastic simplicity of these propositions and counter-propositions, among these ›larger than life magnitudes‹, we as beholders are invited and stipulated to actively attain our own places, to find and hold our grounds in relation both to the opposing sculpture and the surrounding space.
